HELP FARM WALK TO INCREASE ITS ALLOCATION OF WIMBLEDON TICKETS BY JOINING "BRITISH TENNIS"

TODAY. MEMBERSHIP IS FREE. READ THE PERSONAL MESSAGE TO FARM WALK FROM ROGER DRAPER, BELOW, THEN DOWNLOAD THE FORM

Dear Farm Walk member,

I am writing to let you know about some changes to British Tennis Membership which will be implemented over the coming months.

There has been some confusion around British Tennis Membership and how it differs from club affiliation so first of all here is some clarification around these separate areas.

British Tennis Membership is an individual membership scheme for adults and juniors who play or have an interest in British tennis. People who sign up to the scheme receive individual benefits and become part of the British tennis family. Benefits include entry into their club’s ballot for Wimbledon tickets from 2009; an LTA player rating; the opportunity to access additional packages including other world class tennis events and a TeamCard loyalty card that lets British Tennis Members earn points when they shop with TeamCard’s partner retailers.

Club affiliation is in effect ‘club membership to the LTA’. Clubs join their county tennis association and as a result the club and its committee or management receive a number of benefits. Benefits include comprehensive cover through the LTAs liability scheme protecting clubs and their committees; legal and financial advice available on demand through the BASeline service; the opportunity for club teams to compete in both county and national leagues; and access to a network of county offices and a wide range of expertise covering facilities, talent identification and development, club school links, coach support and competition.

So what are the changes?

British Tennis Membership – free for all affiliated club members until 2012

Over 95,000 people have become members since the launch of British Tennis Membership in March 2008. However, many tennis players are still not benefiting from being a part of British tennis and receiving the rewards that individual membership can bring.

To ensure all club members can benefit from British Tennis Membership, it has been decided to extend free British Tennis Membership to all members of affiliated clubs until 2012.

Wimbledon tickets 2009

Please note that your club's 2009 allocation of Wimbledon tickets will be based on the number of your club members (adults and juniors aged 9 and over) who have signed up as a British Tennis Member by the 30th November 2008.

Wimbledon tickets through your club ballot, from 2009, will only be available to British Tennis Members and all of your club members who are signed up as British Tennis Members must be included within your club ballot.

Please communicate the good news to your members that British Tennis Membership will be free to them for at least until 2012 and the associated benefits that this will bring.

With best wishes for a successful ‘sunny’ summer season.
